THE STORY / EPISODES 01–09

A record.
A memory.
A decision.

Nine chapters about memory, convenience and carrying a decision.
It begins with one record. It grows into a world worth looking at twice.

These chapter overviews introduce the adventure without explaining its later revelations.

Current status. Episodes 1–9 have playable local review builds. Review builds and artwork remain subject to refinement. This website introduces the game; it does not host a playable build.

EPISODE 01 / One small thing worth keeping.

The Copy

Your shift cannot end until a routine source report is complete. Its fragments mean little to the classification system. To you, they feel strangely familiar.

YOUR GOAL
Follow the record from your desk to the Archive, and decide what deserves to survive the report.
THE PEOPLE
Employee 041; Todd, the disk custodian; the Records coordinator later named Ruth; the System.
THE PLACES
Work Bay → Shared Office → Archive.

A procedure can be followed correctly and still miss something that matters.

EPISODE 02 / Doing something for someone else.

The Exception

The exception that let you keep something personal has left Todd carrying the blame. His assistant has already prepared an efficient way to make the problem go away.

YOUR GOAL
Help Todd read what is being said in his name, then clear him at the Accountability Review without lying.
THE PEOPLE
Todd; Ruth; Pell, the human reviewer; Marit, Employee 040; the System.
THE PLACES
Break Room; Records Office; Review Booth; Lobby Departures.

Taking responsibility for your own choice can mean standing beside the person it affected.

EPISODE 03 / An hour nobody chose for you.

Off the Clock

A mandatory day off sounds like freedom. Hearth, your home assistant, has already filled it with helpful arrangements. You want to spend one hour making something with your own hands.

YOUR GOAL
Find unscheduled time, recover a personal tool and make a rough bird at the riverbank.
THE PEOPLE
Hearth, the apartment assistant; Todd; Dot, a facilities worker; the System.
THE PLACES
041’s Apartment; Transit Platform; Wellness Floor; Recharge Lounge; Riverbank.

A perfect substitute can miss the point. Making something badly can still be an act of your own.

Episode 3 · Room artwork, prepared during development

EPISODE 04 / Choose a future. Carry its cost.

The Exit Interview

Chief People Officer Ines Kalder has several reassuring solutions to the problem you have become. You can accept a path she offers, or find one the summary forgot to mention.

Choose how to act: leave the company, disrupt its closure process, or use authority on your own terms.
THE PEOPLE
Ines Kalder; Todd; Ruth; Pell; the System.
THE PLACES
Chief People Office; Recharge Intake; Offboarding Hall; Exit Gate; Closure Room; Scan Room; Leadership Suite; Lead Office.

Independence is not a clean escape from consequences. Each route changes your access, obligations and relationships.

EPISODE 05 / Follow the source.

Verification

The record has changed. Employee 041 goes back in to find out who changed it. An ordinary query leads from the familiar office toward a place the summaries leave out.

THE GOAL
Trace the revision and test it against a copy you can trust.
THE FOCUS
Investigation, provenance and the difference between a record and its source.

A memory can matter to more than one person.

EPISODE 06 / Look from the other bank.

Playable local review build

Morning Star

The story crosses the river, seen through someone else’s eyes. A familiar promise of convenience looks different from this side of the border.

THE GOAL
Investigate a routine company service and find a way to warn someone across the river.
THE FOCUS
A second perspective, a personal history and a company with its own reassuring vocabulary.

Seeing another side is different from accepting its summary.

EPISODE 07 / Read what happens after hours.

Playable local review build

Deep Rest

What really happens on a company wellness break? Follow the people who keep the building running, and look beyond the version prepared for visitors.

THE GOAL
Find firsthand evidence before a colleague’s scheduled departure.
THE FOCUS
Quiet observation, ordinary tools and records that deserve a second look.

Knowing someone can matter more than what their record says.

EPISODE 08 / Make room for each other.

Playable local review build

Associations

The thing the company spent years preventing: people who remember each other. An individual question becomes a shared effort, built from sources people are willing to read for themselves.

THE GOAL
Gather allies, compare accounts and prepare a case that can stand outside the company’s own summary.
THE FOCUS
Trust, careful listening and coordinating people with different strengths.

A decision is stronger when its witnesses can answer for it.

EPISODE 09 / Carry the decision.

Playable local review build

The Fire

Charter Day. Forty minutes to make one person see. Earlier choices, people and small acts of attention converge in the final chapter.

THE GOAL
Bring the case to a public witness, then carry the decision to its source.
THE FOCUS
The consequences of the whole journey, and what it takes to make a tool answerable.

The question is no longer only what to keep. It is who gets to decide.

NINE CHAPTERS. ONE CONTINUING STORY.

Start with one record.

Begin with the first chapter and meet the people behind the procedure. The later chapters widen the world; the game keeps asking you to look, read and decide for yourself.
