An independent adventure.
caveOS is a project by Patrick Neubauer, who owns product direction, story decisions, architecture, review and acceptance. Coding agents assist with development, documentation and implementation. Artwork has been created with AI-assisted image-generation workflows and reviewed within the project; generation is not the same as final visual approval.
Artwork on this website.
- Work Bay: existing Episode 1 room artwork.
- Gameplay: an actual opening Episode 1 capture, taken in a fresh local browser context on 23 October 2026.
- Employee 041, Todd, Ruth, Pell and Marit: existing runtime character art. Employee 041 is shown using the idle frame of the original atlas.
Behind the scenes: how the game is implemented.
Where to play.
Current status. Episodes 1–2 have playable local review builds. The adventure is in development. This website does not host the game. In the local runtime, choose New game → Episode 1 for the opening story.
Predefined choices keep the authored routes playable without a model provider. Optional live conversation requires the configured backend. In Episode 2, explicit controls handle puzzle decisions; free text is conversational.
Controls and comfort.
The game uses Look, Talk, Take and Use actions, inventory items, named object controls and dialogue choices. Hotspot assistance and reduced-motion behavior are available in the current runtime. This website’s image viewer supports Escape to close and the left/right arrow keys to browse. The How it plays tabs also support arrow keys. There is no autoplay audio.
Website privacy.
The CaveOS pages have no account form, analytics script, conversation provider or save system. The separate Flowloop App website retains its existing analytics and cookie controls. It does not ask for model keys or connect to the game backend. Hosting and access authentication may use their own service cookies. Entering the local game is a separate experience with its own browser-owned saves.
Release and rights.
No public game release date or commercial availability is announced here. Existing development sound effects have noncommercial restrictions; the project does not claim commercial clearance for the entire game. This website includes no audio. Artwork is displayed for the owner-authorized project presentation, with no additional reuse license granted.
